How a Horse Can Change Your Energy

When Sophie and I first met, she had this constant "tick" every time I would brush her. The left hoof would lift as if she were trying to dig in the ground. Over and over again, each time we got together, this hoof would circle around and around. I learned it was just what she did out of nerves, so I got used to it. I expected that tick to be there each time I'd put her in the cross ties. During this last visit, she surprised me. Her hoof didn't move. She was completely calm. It was beautiful.

I've been meeting her each week to do a simple thing - let her know she matters. I breathe into my heart and apply all the tools I've learned in my animal communication class with Cindy Myers. I ground myself and calm my energy. And when I'm centered, Sophie is totally present.

For those of you who have helped keep Sophie at the beautiful Diettrich Farm with your donations to pay her board and food, it's making a difference. Her progress is undeniable. Her attitude is simply beautiful.

Here is a photo of us in the arena. Her ears are facing forward, (which is a good sign) and we are two pals walking with a purpose - which is to just BE there for each other. One step at a time.
